There has been a menswear shop on the premises since the late 1800s and whilst changes have been made over the years, the watchword has always been " keep the tradition", which we feel we have been able to achieve.

Situated on Market Place in the centre of the ancient market town of Clitheroe, the hub for the Ribble Valley in North East Lancashire, Reads can provide all aspects of quality clothing for the discerning man.

We also provide a comprehensive collection of Hirewear for all formal occasions for Weddings through to Highland wear, Evening wear which we carry in stock to acommodate those last minute invites and also School Proms etc. 

Olymp shirts

Olymp shirts in non - iron cotton are offered in a variety of colours and collar styles, with extra long and extra short sleeve lengths and with a slim fit option. These are the best quality shirts we have offered to date! Also available from Olymp are a wide range of silk ties, specially colour co-ordinated to complement the shirts.

Evening shirts in standard or wing collars again in non- iron cotton are also available along with our ranges of pre- tied or self tie bow ties in a wide range of colours!

Franco Ponti

Knitwear from Franco Ponti in 50/50 wool/polyester are offered in a whole range of styles and colours and prove to be of exceptional value.

Meyer (trousers)

Call them hosen, pantalons, busker...or trousers! Worldwide, the name Meyer means the highest possible quality.  *At Read’s, we stock a range of waist sizes as well as inside leg measurements of 30”, 32” and 34”. For items purchased here, we are happy to carry out, free of charge, small alterations to ensure the perfect fit every time.

Wolsey soft grip socks are now a standard, comfortable to wear and not restricting around the legs! Also we stock Wolsey underwear in twin packs, slips, boxers and y- fronts in 100% cotton are exceptional value.
